Our Aegean Grid tablecloth Pant M – From Table to Wardrobe
The Story
These wide-leg pants were carefully crafted from a rare, vintage, blue, woven cotton tablecloth from Greece, estimated to be from the 1960s–1980s. They feature a bold blue background with white woven borders and grids.
It's a true beauty! If you scroll down a bit in the photos, you will see the premium-quality pattern that features woven stripes. (Not printed.)
For this pair, we followed the original pattern layout of the tablecloth, cutting each piece thoughtfully to preserve the borders placement.
The design eliminates side seams entirely — using only inseams — so the patterns run continuously along the leg, as they did on the original tablecloth. This allows the full beauty of the vintage textile to remain visible.
The M version pant features:
A cropped, slightly wide-leg cut that cannot be tailored to a custom length, as the initial fringes from the tablecloth have been left intact
Half Elastic waistband mostly on the back and part of front with drawstring made from the same raw edges of the tablecloth. You can easily adjust the waist fit
High or Mid waist design according to your personal preference- or your shoes!
The pleats in the front prevent a bulky front
One large back patch pockets and one on the side
No side seams — only inseam construction
The seams are clean inside with topstitching

Designed as a M — it fits best on sizes S to small M , depending on your desired fit.
M size Recommended for hip sizes:
• Up to 100 cm (ideal fit)*
Model is 170 cm tall with bust 86 cm, waist 77 cm, hips 95 cm.
All measurements taken flat (cm). Multiply by 2 for full circumference:
Waist (unstretched): 36,5 cm → total 73 cm
Waist (fully stretched): 50 cm → total 100 cm
Hip: 55 cm → total 110 cm
Inseam length: 61 cm
Total length (waist to hem): 93 cm
Front Rise: 37cm
Back Rise: 44 cm

Because the pants have an elastic waist with no front closure, we recommend using your hip measurement to select the best fit.
👉 To ensure comfort and proper drape:
Your hips should be equal to or up to 2 cm smaller than the fully stretched waist measurement of the pants.
For example:
• If the stretched waist of the pants is 100 cm → ideal for hips up to 98 cm or 100 cm.
• If the stretched waist of the pants is 92 cm → ideal for hips up to 90 cm or 92cm .
This allows for comfortable movement without pulling across the hips.

A little backstory
These pants started out as a beautifully woven, pure cotton tablecloth made in Greece. We added it to our collection four years ago and have been waiting for the right moment to use it. Due to its rarity, we previously offered it as a made-to-order item.
This spring, we finally felt ready to give it a second life. We transformed it into an easy-to-wear pant that you can wear every day with your favorite tops, white shirts, a black blazer, sandals, or even ballerinas.
We love how soft it feels against the skin and the subtle woven pattern that is common in mainland Greece and the Greek islands. It symbolizes harmony and good fortune. This piece carries something from the past into the present.
About the Making
Each Pants in the From Table to Wardrobe collection takes between 5.5 to 8.5 hours to complete.
• 1 to 2 hours go into gentle washing, on-spot cleaning, or mending as needed.
• 2.5 to 4 hours are spent cutting and carefully placing each element to highlight the original details.
• 1.7 to 2.2 hours for machine sewing and seam finishing, attached elastic and ties .
Where and How It’s Made
Each piece is made either in our own studio or together with our trusted partner family atelier, just a short bike ride away, right here in Amsterdam. Nothing is outsourced. It’s just us, our hands, and a deep respect for the materials we work with.
A Note on Vintage Textiles
All textiles are pre-washed before we begin any transformation process. Because we work with pre-loved vintage fabrics, minor imperfections may be present — part of the story and character of each piece.
Please note: colors may vary slightly from what you see on screen due to natural lighting and different screens. We do our best to show the true feel of the garment. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Reworked vintage pieces are final sale.
